  • Sign up for a free account, no subscription or payment for the app is necessary
  • Enable Wifi and Bluetooth on the phone or tablet
  • IMPORTANT: Ensure WiFi connection uses the 2.4GHz band. Dual band SSID or a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID is required, otherwise connection will fail. Contact your internet provider and request a 2.4GHz guest network if one is not readily available

Step 2

Disconnect Bulldog Motor

  • Unpugging motor prevents accidental water shutoff when pairing the controller module to Smartlife App
  • Carefully remove connection without twisting or bending to ensure the plug pins remain undamaged

Step 3

Connect Controller to Smartlife

  • Hold the blue "Open/Close" button for around 8 seconds until the blue LED at the top right of the controller begins blinking constantly
  • It may take up to 30 seconds for the Smartlife app to discover the controller module after putting it in pairing mode
  • If device is not found it may be too far from the router, out of pairing mode, or timed out of pairing mode
  • If Smartlife asks to access phone or tablets location, select "Precise Location". This can also be enabled in your devices app permission settings
  • IMPORTANT: If connection fails, ensure the correct Wifi password is used. Otherwise the connection may be 5G which will not work, contact your internet provider and request a 2.4GHz guest network

Step 4

Connect Bulldog Motor & Test

  • When inserting Bulldog motor plug, ensure the arrow on the plug is facing upwards towards the front of the controller module
  • To operate, test the Bulldog motor via the smartlife app use the large button on the screen

Step 5

Add Notifications

  • This notification will alert the phone that the valve has closed
  • Ensure app notifications are enabled in the phone or tablet settings
  • Notification will appear for both leak sensor shutoff and "Open/Close" button shutoff
